Health & Safety Award
NAIRN CENTRE, ON, July 28, 2014 — EACOM Timber Corporation is pleased to announce that its Nairn Center Sawmill has been awarded a Workplace Excellence Award by Workplace Safety North™ (WSN). The award recognizes EACOM Nairn Center’s active engagement in improving its health and safety performance.
“We’re incredibly proud of our Nairn Center team,” said Jeff Webber, Executive Vice President and COO, EACOM. “Our organization is focused on continual improvement and this award demonstrates the team’s commitment to implementing new ideas and innovations to ensure that the ongoing health and safety of our staff are assured.”
The awards are determined through the combination of a company self assessment and a statistical performance score over a two year period. The statistical analysis looks at data such as year over year percent reduction in lost-time injury rate and percent reduction in total injury rate. Top scoring firms from each industrial sector served by WSN will be further recognized with a President’s award at WSN Annual General Meeting this September.
